In Gmail, there is a theme called ‘Tree’. It’s background weather would change according to the location you have selected in your Google account.
I’ve been using the ‘Tree’ theme for quite some time already. The location which I selected is Petaling Jaya, a city in Malaysia.
Here are the kinds of weather I’ve seen in the ‘Tree’ theme.
Partly Cloudy – This is the weather I see most frequently when I am in Gmail. It is one of my favorite ‘Tree’ weathers. Then, 4 hours later…
Cloudy: …Getting cloudy…full of dull clouds. Looks like it is about to rain. Suddenly…
Rain – …Yes, you guessed it! It rained! This is another one of my favorite weathers in the ‘Tree’ theme. I love the raindrops-splashing-on-top-of-the-email-window effect. But all of a then…
Thunderstorm: Rumble…Rumble…Rumble… ZAP! It turned into a thunderstorm! Purple sky, wondrous lightning…oh, the text color has been turned into white. 5 hours later…
Clear – …The glorious sunshine peeked through the clouds. Minutes later, the sky was clear with not a cloud! In fact, in my opinion, this weather is the most beautiful weather in the ‘Tree’ theme.
Haze – This weather is beginning to appear frequently when I open Gmail. Looks like Petaling Jaya is getting more hazy now. Perhaps it’s because of forest fire, vehicle exhaust, or factory smoke?
And that’s the list of weather in Malaysia.
I do not know much about the weather of other countries though, because I rarely change the location info in my account.
If you ask me what Gmail theme I’d recommend, I would say the ‘Tree’ theme – beautiful, natural, and has the changing-weather feature.
To change your theme to ‘Tree’, click ‘Settings’ near the top of the Gmail page. Then, click ‘Themes’. Settings >> Themes
